{Sponsored} When Devanie and DJ Adams started making handmade signs in their garage for a craft fair 18 years ago, they didn’t imagine that the efforts would turn into their new full-time jobs. After quitting their careers to start

building their new dream from the ground up, they found a sense of community with other makers and buyers alike in the home décor industry.

“We’re inspired by life,” said Devanie Adams, co-founder of Adams & Co., Home & Holiday Décor. Their aesthetic reflects how their family has experienced the industry, designing new products based on their own lives for an authentic feel. “I have adored words and expressions for as long as I can remember. You could say ‘words of affirmation’ are my love language. Naturally, I gravitate to design that evokes a feeling whether it is sentimental or inspiring, witty or reverent,” Adams said.

With wood as their primary medium, Adams & Co. has established a modern aesthetic with traditional roots based on memories and the feeling of being home. Much of the inspiration also comes from their customers and friends. Adams considers this inspiration to be a collaboration between the Adams & Co. team and their retail partners and customers alike.

Currently, the favorite woods that keep appearing in new designs are mango and bamboo, both of which are sustainable products. The group currently launches approximately 800 new products each year, including new collections for each holiday season.

Adams & Co. exhibits at both Atlanta Market at AmericasMart and Las Vegas Market. Their letterboard collection, with customizable signs, are the top sellers. New shapes they create each year are also popular, with many retailers vying to collect each new shape Adams & Co. releases.

At their showrooms, another big draw is frozen yogurt. However, it’s not the only reason that buyers stop by. Adams & Co. always strives to bring great energy to the showroom floor. “We are a family business who loves visiting with retailers and other exhibitors every market. For us, market is a reunion of sorts. And we welcome anybody to come by and say hello, grab a frozen yogurt and snap a pic for @adamsandcompany to tag you on Instagram and promote your store,” Adams said.

The cross-promotion on Instagram is one of Adams’ favorite offerings; by keeping in touch all year and promoting their retail partners, Adams & Co. aims to share not only the Adams family with the world but also to give a boost to retailers. However, the best bet is always to stop by the showroom in person for the energy, connections … and frozen yogurt.
